Welcome to the blog! I’m a small-town Florida girl and Army wife relocated to the Seattle Suburbs, documenting love from one coast to the other. I live for a good PNW mountain breeze, sweat pants, and local eats. Let's be friends!
It is a complete blessing to be a JBLM birth photographer and this was the second time I got to photograph at Madigan. The staff there is incredible, patient and so, so caring. I have had nothing but good experiences and am patiently awaiting another little one to make his arrival at JBLM soon!
I spent a couple of days at the hospital capturing my sweet friend Laura’s birth story. Laura’s pregnancy was quite challenging and her daily perseverance, sacrifice and will is one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. I was lucky enough to share her pregnancy journey with her while her husband was deployed, watching her little man grow in her tummy. To see an him in his ultrasound and then in person left me with a feeling that’s hard to explain. He kept putting his little hand up to his face, just as he did in momma’s tummy.
It seemed only fitting that I got to be in the room while he made his way into the world and I can’t even begin to tell you how heartwarming it was to be included and allowed to document his birth. Not only did I get to meet the CUTEST little boy with wild hair, but I got an intimate peek into Laura and Dan’s love for each other and I can say with out a doubt, Caden will have the best parents and so much love in his life. It was surprisingly more difficult to edit and work through these images than it was to be present for his birth. There’s something about reflecting on the day rather then being in the adrenaline of it all that left me WAY too emotional. I apologize in advance for the number of photos, it’s really hard to narrow down when you’re dear friends and their little boy are so dang adorable!
Laura and Dan, I am so happy to know both of you and to have captured one of the most special moments in you life. I can’t wait to continue to obsess over Caden, his eye lashes and toes! Sweet Caden, this is your birth story.
