BEHIND THE LENS

about meg

Every time I photograph an elopement I think, “Why don’t more people do this?”

I'm Megan.

Standing on the summit of a mountain is one of my favorite places to be. In that moment everything fades away and it’s just me, the invigorating breeze, and immense calmness that comes from just being present.

I didn’t. Which is why my wedding was planned more out of obligation and fear than intentionality. But I’ve learned something important over my 8 years as a wedding photographer: When you give yourself permission to trust your intuition, go against the grain, and forge your own path? Magic happens every single time.

Hey friends,

The truth is, there are so many things in life we just float through. Your wedding day shouldn’t be one of them.

Did you know your wedding can feel like that, too?

No matter how you choose to get married, it will be the best day of your life. For some, that’s a massive party with a dance floor and a five-course meal. But for my couples? It’s a little more down to earth than that.

Elopements and adventure weddings are low key. Intentional. Rooted in how you want to feel vs. what you “should” do. They make space for sipping good coffee in the morning, putting on your best dress (with hiking boots, if you want), and promising your vows in locations that take your breath away.

Everytime I photograph an elopement I think, “Why don’t more people do this?” and it’s because they are genuine, natural, and true. I’ve dedicated my career to helping you create the wedding of your dreams because your love story deserves to be told in the way that feels like a true extension of you. If that’s in the mountains? Let’s go...

Here’s Your Permission

Trust your intuition, go against the grain, and forge your own path. In doing so, you’ll intentionally set the tone for your entire marriage.

01. I'm addicted to

TEA

In September of 2019, we become a family of 4 (my hubs Raven, my daughter Mila + our fluff Oly). There's no greater joy than sharing the world with our girl!

It's true, there is a cat water fountain in my kitchen. Needless to say, I'm a bit of a cat (well all animals, really) enthusiast.

03. I'M KNOWN AS

A CRAZY CAT LADY

I'm a bit of a foodie and can't wait until my next great meal. From cooking at home, to trying out a new local eatery - you can bet food is always on my mind and is my favorite way to savor the moment.

04. I NEVER SKIP OUT ON

GOOD FOOD

From frequenting our local rock climbing gym, exploring the mountains and kayaking the sound, I love adventuring. Being in nature allows me to reconnect with myself and will always be my happy place.

I’ll do anything for the shot, even if it means getting a little dirty.

I’m not just a photographer, I’m also a guide, cheerleader, and contingency planner. I put in a lot of effort into making sure your wedding feels effortless.

No adventure is too far for a wedding day. I’ve got my bags packed and ready to go.

You don’t have to be a model to look like one. I can direct, guide, and prompt you so that you look completely genuine with each other + the environment .
