Courtney and Blake are a modern day Noah and Allie straight from The Notebook. They tied the knot at Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA exactly one year from the day they met randomly while camping on the beach. Their intimate wedding was everything they hoped it would be – filled with love, laughter and lots of happy tears with the people that matter most to them.
Getting to know my clients and their love story is the best part about my job as a Woodinville Wedding Photographer. Being able to tell a story verses just delivering pretty photos is what continues to fuel my passion for what I do. From the moment Courtney and Blake stepped out of Blake’s truck at their Deception Pass engagement session, I knew the connection they had was undeniable. Fast forward to their first look and the depth of their love was even more undeniable. To this day, I’m not sure I have ever seen such raw, beautiful emotion; it still gives me goosebumps when I think about it!
So needless to say, I wasn’t all that surprised to hear that it was their favorite moment of their day too! “Our favorite moment from our wedding day was the first look. It was the sweetest, most genuine moment from the entire day. It was the moment it all finally became real to us. I was holding back tears as I walked up to him – overjoyed at the idea that I was going to be able to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams. And the moment he saw me tears started rolling down his cheeks. He thought I looked like an angel and was overjoyed for the same reason. Getting to share that quiet moment with each other before the festivities started was just so special.”
Courtney and Blake, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to document your love story. It’s been an honor getting to know you two over these past few months. Cheers to a lifetime of love and laughter!
“I also really liked the first dance. Blake was super nervous, but to me it was like we were the only ones in the room. It was just him and I, singing to each other, making funny faces at each other, holding each other in a tender embrace. I absolutely loved the raw emotion of it all.” – Courtney
If we had to give our advice to couples planning their wedding it would be: 1) Hire Megan!!! She goes above and beyond the role of a wedding photographer and will help make your special day amazing! 2) Have a first look. It was really nice not having to share that special moment and those raw emotions with everyone else. 3) For the bride – Get your hair and makeup professionally done. It is much less stressful and airbrush makeup is worth the cost!! – Courtney + Blake
