Robert + Katelyn submitted for my last minute model-call when I decided that I had to get outside and enjoy the sun we had seen so sparingly the months before. Of course, it’s sunny almost every day now and I am soaking in every inch of it! Did I mention I LOVE Washington? Anyways, Katelyn ran across my model call via Instagram and wrote the sweetest submission. They had just relocated to Seattle from Texas and are first time transplants just like us! The fact that they loved the mountains and landscape here really sold me too! Having driven through Texas (which is basically the longest drive ever) I definitely knew what she was feeling! So, we started at the bottom of Rattlesnake lake and took a few pictures but it was VERY crowded and sunny. So we skipped most of the lake and began our journey to the summit. These two we’re so endearing and Katelyn insisted on hiking to the top in wedges. Let’s just say, she rocks. I would have been complaining the whole time.

I grew up without “real” changing seasons and it feels like everything is new to me living in the PNW. I adventured to Rattlesnake Ledge over winter with some friends and when I went back for the session, I barely recognized the hike the second time around. The water had come back to the lake, the trees were actually less green and luscious than they had been during the winter. The view at the top was even more remarkable than I had remembered. Before, I was halted by snow stuffed trees and really had a limited view until we reached the very end of the trail and summit. This time around, you could peak through the trees and see so much more of the beauty it has to offer.
