I had the honor of photographing Jarrett’s return from a nine-month deployment last year. Being an Army wife and also having my brother serve in the Army, I know just how stressful and exciting that time can be. I was really excited to hear from Alexa and Jarrett again – this time to celebrate their anniversary and commemorate their time here in Washington before a big move! I feel like it’s almost an obligation for everyone to have “true PNW” photos before ever leaving this area. After stalking the weather for days and hours on end we decided on a Lake Cushman Anniversary Session to give ourselves the best chance with the weather.
Regardless of the forecast, Lake Cushman is one of my favorite locations because it’s easily accessible and has the most stunning views. Not to mention, I feel like I find a new favorite spot every time I go and each part of the lake photographs so differently. Much to our surprise, the rain held out (for the most) and we had the most beautiful clouds and A TON of wind! Molly, their adorable dog, loved being able to run around and explore. Alexa and Jarrett both have smiles that are absolutely contagious and you can really see how much they love each other and exploring all the PNW has to offer.
Alexa and Jarrett, thank you for allowing me to document another special memory for you two. It’s been so much fun getting to know you and I wish you all the best in your next adventure! The military keeps the world small and I can’t wait until our paths cross again!
