While my “job” as an Olympic National Park Photographer allows me to photograph couples in some of the most epic locations the Pacific Northwest has to offer, that’s not even the best part. The best part is getting to know my couples, learn how their love story began and add to their story by documenting these special moments in their lives. I am definitely that person that meets a couple and instantly wants to ask them how and when and where it all started. Basically, I have no filter, sometimes put my foot in my mouth but hey, I’m ok with that. I’m a sucker for a couples happiness, real love stories and Mackenzie and Josh’s history is no exception!
These two met through a mutual friend at a New Year’s Eve party but only talked for a mere 30 seconds. It wasn’t until they saw each other again 7 months later that their relationship started to grow. Before their engagement session along the Hood Canal of the Olympic National Park, I asked them what made their relationship special. Two things really stood out to me and I saw it throughout their session. They said, “No matter what we are doing, we are always laughing and having fun. We share inside jokes and understand each others personalities so we are able to make each other feel better no matter the circumstance.” Throughout their engagement session I saw exactly that and more. I saw how much Josh absolutely adores Mackenzie and I saw how much Mackenzie trusts Josh. I saw two people that love each other and reminded me why I fell in love with documenting couples in the first place.
Mackenize and Josh – thank you for allowing me to capture this part of your love story. This is just the beginning for you two and I wish you a lifetime of adventures, inside jokes, and happiness!
