The results are perfect when the sweetest couple from Enumclaw, Washington, plans an intimate Tuscan wedding. Alex and Anna created an event for themselves to commune with their family and friends. They planned a trip around bringing their people across the world for a Florence intimate wedding followed by moments in the Tuscan countryside, which made my Italy wedding photographer’s heart happy.
Alex and Anna were set up on a blind date–what a cute meet-cute! Anna, a teacher, initially hesitated when the mother of one of her students mentioned a guy who worked with her husband in Seattle. He wasn’t single then, but this friend was sure Alex and Anna would be good for each other. Eventually, she gave the student’s mother her number, who promised to wait until he was single to pass it along. Soon, she received a text from the “cute guy” in a group picture she had been shown during school pick-up. Their initial plan to go out for drinks transformed into an impromptu meeting at her apartment when he offered to help her with classwork. Whether it was a joke or not, Anna took him up on it! And she knew after that first time hanging out that he was something special. The rest is history!
It has been repeated time and time that you would be surprised that traveling for your wedding will actually save you money! It’s hard to believe, but weddings are so expensive when you’re close enough to home that you feel obligated to invite many people. I, for one, am a proponent that you never have to invite a ton of people. I’m an elopement and intimate wedding photographer for a reason! There’s a certain magic in small weddings and intentional gatherings, where every person present is there because they truly matter to you. It’s about quality over quantity, and the memories created in such settings are priceless.
If you decide that travel suits you, do what Alex and Anna did. Make it a family vacation! Don’t just plan out the weekend of your Florence wedding; make the whole affair a trip to remember. Which is exactly what Alex and Anna planned. Their people were all down to come across the world with them, experience this new place, and make memories together.
On the wedding day, it was clear that Alex and Anna were intentional with those they invited to celebrate. All of the feelings and vibes were perfect for the day. They held their wedding at the romantic venue Fattoria Di Lavacchio. While it can be hard to plan a wedding from afar, and with a language barrier, they made the most of the experience. Good food, good wine, and the people surrounding them. They were intentional about spending time with each person and valuing their moments together.
As an Italy elopement photographer, I cherished the moments that Alex and Anna set aside to do portraits. We ventured into the fields in the countryside. I loved the opportunity to capture the Italian landscape and give them photos that will be art for their walls. To break away from the day and have a few minutes of quiet to celebrate their love. Having an experienced photographer by your side ensures that every special moment, every breathtaking location, and every emotion is beautifully captured, allowing you to relive your wedding day for years to come.
If you are planning an Italian elopement or looking for an experienced Tuscan elopement photographer, I’d love to connect! Being a part of this travel wedding to Italy showcased making the most of the situation with their people.
Welcome to the blog! I’m a small-town Florida girl and Army wife relocated to the Seattle Suburbs, documenting love from one coast to the other. I live for a good PNW mountain breeze, sweat pants, and local eats. Let's be friends!
