This past summer in the PNW was definitely different. We saw more rain and fog than normal this time of year, a fear every eloping couple has until they experience it. Rain has such a beautiful way of enriching the environment and making a day just feel cozy and intimate. Rachel and Devin’s foggy and rainy Mount St Helens elopement was truly something special.
While rain can be the last thing you want on your wedding day and there was no mountain in sight, these two embraced it all. That’s the beauty of choosing to elope. Sometimes, you just embrace the day you’re given and it’s better than you could have ever dreamed of. Any Mount St Helens elopement are what dreams are made but these two’s attitude approaching their untraditional and rainy day was EVERYTHING. Choosing to elope means choosing all the possibilities and it’s so nice to work with couples who just “get” that.
All of the rain and fog made the vibrant wildflowers even more of the star of the show! The wildflowers at Mount St. Helens are my personal favorite, and I am so glad they were in bloom for their elopement! Both of Rachel and Devin’s parents traveled to Washington to witness their elopement and bask in the PNW outdoors these two have come to love! I’m pretty sure parents don’t always get why we choose to elope until they witness their child’s intentional and stress-free day.
Rachel and Devin, thank you for trusting me to capture your special day. I cannot wait for take-two at the mountain on a more sunny day to celebrate your anniversary! Cheers to forever, you two!
