I absolutely adored getting to capture these two’s elopement in Tacoma.  The day was dreary and rainy but hey, we took that as a sign of good luck for their marriage! We started the day at the Tacoma courthouse to make things official. Afterwards, Kurth and Tanisha didn’t seem to question my sanity as we drove off to their photoshoot location in pouring rain. As a wedding photographer, that’s what we’re trained to do. We strategically plan for breaks in the rain, hope for the best and even if the weather man lies, we work around anything!

Kurth and Tanisha met their freshman year of high school but their relationship really flourished when Kurth decided to join the Army. I’m telling you people, there really is something about the distance making your heart grow fonder. They braved the rain and just embraced the day as it was. Just as the weather let up a bit, we made our way out to the Sound and Tanisha so elegantly rocked her high heals on the slippery ocean-side rocks. That takes some serious skill and needless to say, my clumsy self was impressed.
