These two had me with the first sentence in their inquiry! I love that more and more couples are looking for adventure photographers. Not only are they wanting beautiful photos, but an experience they will remember their engagement season by. Not only did they want an adventure, but a very specific one…to see the golden larches!
People come from all around the world to the PNW to see the golden larches in the fall. We were original going to go to Blue Lake in the Maple Pass area, but weather was looking tricky. We ended dup moving to Lake Ingalls in Central, WA near Leavenworth and took a risk with slightly better weather predictions. It’s a bit of a hike to Lake Ingalls, and about 6 miles in the wind picked up and it started snowing. The weather eventually cleared just in time for us to see the beautiful larches during peak season.
Needless to say, we were all so happy we went with it despite what the weather was saying. Had sunset not been looming, I think we would have stayed for hours taking pictures! Everywhere we turned was beautiful, but with our headlamps on, we headed out. We could not have asked for a more perfect fall day in the PNW, and Cody and Molly were able to have the best engagement session adventure to see the larches!
