Summer Elopement in the North Cascades | Eleni and Joe

Filed in: Elopements

When I first read the inquiry from Eleni and Joe, my heart just broke for them. After the most romantic and proposal in Alaska at the Aialik glacier, they planned to elope in Banff with their parents and siblings. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit right before and they went on to face more delays and cancellations. So, I knew when they reached out wanting to come to Washington for a summer elopement in the North Cascades, we had to make it happen. And that we did!

Hike to Artist Point

Their day started at the cutest little cabin in the Mt. Baker area and then we set out to hike up to Artist Point. Eleni and Joe chose the North Cascades, specifically Artist Point, so they could bring their dog, Skip. He’s a big part of their family and outdoor adventures and it only felt right to have him join us.

Despite it being July, there was still a bit of snow. It made for the most beautiful snow-capped mountains in the background and the occasional snow patch on the ground. Once we were at the top of Artist Point, Eleni and Joe exchanged their vows and rings. Skip stood right by them the entire time! In so many ways it felt like the perfect ending to their delays and the beginning of the rest of their lives together.

Cheers to many more outdoor adventures and travels, you two! Thank you for making the trip to Washington and having me be part of such a special day!

“I did not realize it at first, because I was a city girl, but Joe’s love for the outdoors really ignited a fire in my soul and allowed us to bond on different level. In addition, I fell in love with Joe when I realized how pure his heart and soul is. Joe was always a good communicator, and he helped to keep me grounded and was always there for me no matter what obstacle we faced.” – Eleni

“Falling in love with her was truly a progression. Being able to be the reason she transitioned from a sheltered city girl to what we now call “mountain goat” travel fanatic. Seeing her excitement and enthusiasm for such different things made me realize just how open and willing she was to accept me and the things I loved deeply.” – Joe

“I love Joe’s love for the outdoors. When I first met him, I was not crazy about camping or hiking. I have changed so much for the better ever since I met Joe.” – Eleni

“If I had to pick one thing that I love the most about her it is her caring nature. She’s never concerned with herself, though she does get in her own head, she’s almost always worried about taking care of everyone else. She is easily the most caring woman I know.” – Joe
