Who: Courtney + Blake

All it took was reading Courtney’s inquiry for me to fall in love with these two and their love story! Courtney and Blake met randomly while camping with friends on the Washington Coast last year over Memorial Day weekend. They had an instant connection and after camping Blake made the trip up to Bellingham to see Courtney. On their second date, Blake told Courtney he was going to marry her. At the time, she didn’t believe him because “there lives were taking them to different parts of the globe.” Blake is a pilot in the Air Force and Courtney was preparing to move across the country to finish her student teaching. But hey – Blake was right and when it’s meant to be, things have a magical way of working out how they’re supposed to.

Fast forward a few months…Blake took Courtney to Deception Pass and while the sun was setting he followed through on that bold statement – he asked Courtney to marry him! She said yes, of course, and a few days later I met them back up at Deception Pass for their engagement photos. Literally two seconds into their session I understood their story. I’ve never seen two people more in love or more comfortable with one another. They were naturals in front of the camera and their love was literally beaming off of them. We walked along the iconic bridge, through the forest and along the shoreline all while laughing until we nearly cried.
