You just never know what the winter months will bring in terms of weather in the Pacific Northwest. Rain, snow, dreary grey skies…all pretty much the norm and to be expected. So you can imagine my surprise (and pure elation!) when the sun decided to make an appearance for Kristina and Casey’s winter engagement session at Rattlesnake Lake.

The North Bend area doesn’t typically get as much snow, making it a lot more accessible year-round for everyone. Rattlesnake Lake, in particular, can be a really great non-snowy winter engagement session location. It provides stunning views while not requiring much of a hike (unless you want to!). And if we’re really lucky, the sun will come out and leave us with the most beautiful golden sunset over the water.

It’s also the perfect location for those that want to include your dog! Kristina and Casey wanted to include their pup, Izzy, in their session and I am so glad they did. These are all things we can talk about and plan for when we’re planning your engagement session!

We kicked off Kristina and Casey’s engagement session with Izzy in the photos. It was the perfect way to start and allowed Kristina and Casey to warm up to the camera. Not that they needed it though; they were naturals and so much fun to photograph.

Throughout Kristina and Casey’s engagement session session, all I could think about how excited I was to photograph their wedding. But more importantly, for them to be married! I love their love story. High school sweethearts, now engaged, and soon to be husband and wife. They are playful, so in love, and truly just made for each other.

Yet another couple reminding me why I love what I do and why I love….love!
