As a PNW Elopement and Wedding photographer, I have the unique opportunity to get to meet couples from not only Washington, but all across the country. Each come with their own story. And while I say each one is my favorite (because they are!), there are some that just really pull at my heart strings. Matt and William are one of those couples. Their Washington state intimate wedding at Sanders Estate was delayed for over two years due to the pandemic. But their day finally came and I couldn’t be happier for Matt and William!

This wasn’t their first time to the Pacific Northwest though! We met up for their Olympic National Park engagement session at Lake Cushman. It was there that I got to know them and hear more about their story. It’s moments and stories (and more importantly couples) like this that remind me that this job is so much more than taking pretty photos. It’s really about telling and preserving a story.

Sanders Estate

I love this venue and so happy to be back! Sanders Estate can accommodate big weddings, as well as intimate weddings like Matt and William’s. The grounds are stunning, the staff (along with Events by Blue Ribbon) take care of everything. This is particularly helpful for couples coming in from out of town. Matt, William and their friends and family all traveled from other states.

After an intimate first look, it was time for their ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye there. The love, laughter and excitement was felt and shared by all and it was truly such an honor to witness. Years in the making and a day to remember!

After the ceremony, friends and family offered a toast, the kids played games, and friends and family danced the night away. Matt and William were sure to sneak away for a little boat adventure too, which always makes for some of my favorite couple’s portraits at Sanders Estate.

Matt and William, thank you for trusting me and choosing me to document your Washington state intimate wedding at Sanders Estate. It was truly an honor. Cheers to you two!
