5 Things You Should Just Trust Your Photographer On

I am the ultimate control freak so I completely understand wanting to have a hand in the planning of your session. Talk with your photographer and trust that they will help bring your vision to life!

  1. Location – I’m a people pleaser and sometimes I have a hard time standing my ground. Location isn’t everything but what a location has to inspire your photographer does make a huge difference. Unless you’re choosing an exact place based on sentimental value, give your photographer a brief description of what you’re looking for and trust in them to make the right decision for your photos.
  2. Timing – Your photographer is going to choose the right time based on the day, sunrise/sunset time and weather. Be flexible and trust in them to know why a certain time is necessary. Choosing a time or having time restrictions limits what your photographer has to work with. Yes, we can take photos anywhere at anytime but why not choose the best option possible?
  3. Posing – Pinterest is great, but pinterest is not you. We will play games and pose you in ways that are natural and flattering to who you are as a couple. We have tricks up our sleeves to give you a variety of amazing photos that are uniquely you!
  4. What to Wear – Ask for our opinions and take them into consideration. Some outfits are great in person but aren’t flattering on camera. I’ve created a custom guide that you can access HERE to help with your selection and am happy to give feedback specific to you.
  5. Post Processing + Prints – Every photo is hand edited before being delivered to you on our color calibrate monitors ensuring the best possible quality. This brings our artistic vision to life and is probably one of the reasons why you were attracted to our work. We also have access to professional printing companies to ensure those photos come out beautifully for your home.

You are so right, Megan! These are great tips and as an artist it’s fantastic to have clients put their trust in you to execute their session beautifully! I especially love the note about Pinterest. While we all love it, it’s so true that we aren’t the people on Pinterest and being true to ourselves is so important. Gorgeous photos too. <3
