The Couple: Paige + Henry

The Location: An elegant military destination wedding on the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York.

Last Wednesday, a lovely friend of mine drove me to the airport so I could begin my journey to New York for Paige and Henry’s West Point wedding. Being the over planner that I am, I scheduled my arrival two days before the ceremony just in case any delays or cancellations happened, I would have some time to make my way across the country for their destination wedding. I met Paige and Henry when I got to capture there beautiful engagement session (you can see those pictures HERE). My good friend Laura connected us during a model call I held right after I relocated to Washington. After bonding over an adventure where we ran out of gas in the middle of no where, Paige and I became friends. Words can not tell you how thrilled I was when she asked me to capture her wedding across the country in New York at the stunning USMA in West Point! They had their ceremony at the eloquent Most Holy Trinity Chapel and their reception at the famous Thayer Hotel at West Point.

The week leading up to the trip was a bit of a whirl wind. Hurricane Matthew decided to make his appearance and the projected path was unclear and changed day by day. My partner in crime (well business really) Sierra was flying out of Orlando to come photograph with me and we weren’t too sure if she would make it out of Florida in time. On top of that, the original projections had the hurricane hitting New York right on their wedding day. The world worked with us and not only did Sierra make it out in time, but the storm turned and New York was good to go! Everything went off without a hitch and we were so, so thankful for the beautiful weather on their wedding day!

These two have such a special bond and I can’t wait until we reconnect again! Thank you for having us capture your beautiful Destination wedding in New York. NYC and West Point were absolutely stunning, but neither were a match for the two of you! 😉
